What we do, what we send, who helps us
A system that runs your computers owes you straight answers. Here is where the software comes from, what Cyclop OS sends us, and which companies handle data for us.
Where the software comes from
The base system comes from Ubuntu, through a university mirror. What we build ourselves comes from our own repository, signed with a key you can check. We publish the source of the packages we build, so you can rebuild them.
What Cyclop OS sends us
On the free Community edition, the system sends one small anonymous ping: the version of Cyclop OS, and nothing else. We only add it to a count per day and per version. No machine identifier, no account, no IP address is kept with it.
Paid editions check their licence with our server, because that is what a licence is. That check is tied to your device and your licence, and is used for nothing else.
The full list of what leaves your machine, and how to turn it off, is in the security and privacy help page.
