Updates and time from Europe
System packages come from the official mirror of RWTH Aachen University, over HTTPS and still checked by their original signature. Network time comes from the German and Swedish national labs.

Cyclop is a European company, and Cyclop OS was rebuilt so that a normal day on the computer talks to nobody outside Europe. Every third-party service a stock system calls was removed, switched off, or replaced by a European one.
Servers in Germany
Licences, edition repositories and the network check run on Cyclop servers hosted in Germany.
A network check with no logs
The test that detects hotel and station Wi-Fi portals is answered by Cyclop, carries no data, and keeps no IP address.
Updates from RWTH Aachen
System packages come from the official mirror of a German university, not from the vendor, and are monitored around the clock.
Time from national labs
Network time from PTB in Germany and Netnod in Sweden, instead of a vendor time server.
A European DNS
Name lookups go through DNS4EU, the European public resolver, with a Swiss fallback.
Crash reporters removed
The crash reporters, vendor news, ads and background data services of a stock system are removed or blocked.
A browser that stays quiet
Firefox ships with its telemetry, studies, sponsored content and location lookup switched off, and a European search engine by default.
No Wi-Fi location lookup
Your position is never estimated by sending the nearby Wi-Fi networks to an outside service.
What still leaves Europe, and we say so: Firefox updates come from Mozilla, and Flathub apps from Flathub. Both are on our roadmap to be served from Europe.
