Graphics drivers
Activate NVIDIA and AMD graphics
Enable proprietary NVIDIA drivers and built-in AMD Radeon support on Cyclop OS to get the best performance out of your hardware.
NVIDIA proprietary drivers
If your computer has an NVIDIA graphics card, Cyclop OS installs proprietary drivers automatically. To verify or install them manually:
- Open the Cyclop Menu and search for Software & Updates.
- Go to the Additional Drivers tab.
- Wait for the list of available drivers to appear.
- Select the newest recommended NVIDIA proprietary driver.
- Click Apply Changes to start the installation.
- Once installed, restart your computer.

Troubleshooting NVIDIA drivers
If the NVIDIA X Server Settings app opens an empty window, the drivers may not be active. Check your BIOS settings:
- Power off your computer and restart it.
- Immediately press Esc, Delete, or F12 to enter the BIOS menu.
- In the Boot or Security section, disable Secure Boot.
- Save changes and exit the BIOS.
- Restart to apply.
AMD Radeon drivers
For a modern AMD Radeon GPU (2013 or newer), Cyclop OS ships pre-installed open-source AMDGPU and Radeon drivers, so it works with no extra setup.
- Open Cyclop OS System Settings.
- Go to About System and check the graphics driver.
- Make sure it is listed as AMDGPU.
- If you run into issues, update your drivers with:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -ySecure Boot is the most common reason drivers fail to load. Disabling it in the BIOS resolves most NVIDIA setup problems.
