Security and privacy
What we collect, and what we do not.
Cyclop OS sends no usage telemetry. This page says what does leave the machine, what does not, and how to lock the computer down.
No telemetry
The system does not report what you open, what you type, or what you install. There is no usage profile, and nothing to switch off because nothing is switched on.
What does leave the machine
Updates: the machine asks the repository what versions exist, like any Linux system.
Your licence: the machine identifies itself to the repository so the paid edition opens. That is a device identifier and an edition, nothing about what you do with the machine.
You can see that identifier yourself, in Settings, Accounts, Cyclop Account. Nothing is hidden from you about your own machine.

Encrypt the disk
Chosen at install time, in Installation Mode. The disk becomes unreadable without the passphrase, which is asked at every start.
On a machine that leaves the house, this is the difference between losing a laptop and losing your files to whoever finds it.

Lock the screen
The screen locks on its own after a delay you set in Power, and immediately with the keyboard shortcut. Getting into the habit costs nothing.

Your data on our side
Your account, your invoices, your licence and your machines. Nothing about what you do with the computer.
Accounts are kept while the licence runs, and deleted after two years without activity at the latest.
You can ask for a copy or a deletion at any time, from your account area or by writing to us.
